Mission
Thou Art Art is my journey of design and creativity. I want to explore all the creative world has to offer me and fail and thrive while doing so. I also want to bring attention to the artistic resources in the Colorado creative scene. Bringing artists together in a community brings improves the environment we live in.
My goal when making art is to shop small and recycle where I can. I try to source most of materials from second hand stores or from recycling old textiles. You’ll notice that a lot of my projects are scrappy. I like to pull together bits and pieces and try to limit waste as much as I can.
I am also passionate about education and teaching others how to create things for themselves as I am always learning new skills myself. Part of this website serves as my journal for the many experiments I do with textiles and fashion design. I will share my process for many of my projects (including the failures) to offer something for others to take and grow with. I hope to learn new skills constantly and inspire others to do the same.
I was incredibly lucky to grow up in a family that held creativity up as an incredibly important skill. I learned to sew at the age of 8 and have been learning new skills every year with the encouragement of my loved ones. All I want to do is grow a community where we can all support each other in our artistic endeavors.
